Turf Science Live: Physiological Effects of Brushing

Dr. Karl Danneberger presents the first year results of the USGA sponsored brush study. Brushing is a common cultural practice on greens height turfgrass but the introduction of more aggressive techniques or new equipment may be leading to visible and non-visible damage during stressful times of the year. The objective of this study is to quantify fluctuations in physiological benefits or stress on greens height creeping bent grass due to physical abrasion throughout a full season.
