Third Annual Jacobsen Turfgrass Scholarship Program Honors 27 Students

Jacobsen, A Textron (NYSE: TXT) company, has awarded scholarships to 27 college students throughout North America. The Jacobsen Turfgrass Scholarship, now in its third year, recognizes college seniors in turfgrass management or related discipline programs.

As turfgrass students and interns, we are so fortunate to have opportunities of financial support from generous scholarship programs like Jacobsen’s. For part-time workers and full-time hopefuls like us, this scholarship brings some peace of mind to turf students while we manage our educational and vocational experiences and work hard to make ends meet. – Matthew Golson, a senior in Auburn University’s Turfgrass Management program

To qualify, students must submit an application, an essay and a letter of recommendation from a turfgrass professional. This year’s recipients, each awarded a $500 scholarship, represent 20 different colleges and universities across the United States and Canada including Michigan State University, Oregon State University, Texas A&M University and Olds College.
